Have you been curious about meditation or want to start and don't know how? Join us for an Introduction to Meditation Workshop.
A practice in which an individual uses a technique – such as mindfulness, or focusing the mind on a particular object, thought, or activity – to train for attention and awareness, to achieve a mentally clear and emotionally calm and stable state.
Meditation isn’t about becoming a different person, a new person, or even a better person. It’s about training our awareness and getting a healthy sense of perspective.
We're not turning off thoughts or feelings - we're learning to observe them without judgment.
Meditation is the art of looking inside and discovering one's own inner self.
In this Workshop you will learn:
What meditation is (and what it is not)
The importance/benefits of a regular meditation practice
Different types of meditation
How to meditate
The key to meditation isn’t the right props and books, it’s finding the style of meditation that works for you. We'll experience several styles of meditation to help inform your choice.
Before leaving, we'll discuss the practicalities of a daily practice and how to support it so we can take what we’ve learned into our everyday lives.
Discover more than meditation in this workshop - discover peace, calm, and more of yourself.
